APPLICATIONS FOR DIVISION OF GENERAL SESSIONS CIVIL COURT DIVISION VI – JUDICIAL POSITION AVAILABLE ONLINE

Shelby County, Tenn. – The Shelby County Board of Commissioners is officially accepting applications to appoint a Division of General Sessions Civil Court Division VI - Judicial Position, a full-time position. Applications are open until Friday, August 28, 2026.

Judges are responsible for performing related duties as required by the General Sessions Civil Court. Candidates must meet minimum qualifications; you must be at least 30 years old, have a license to practice law in the State of Tennessee, have residency in Tennessee for five years, and in Shelby County for one year.

All candidates will be subjected to a background check. All applications will be reviewed thoroughly. Smith Jr. County Administration Building, 160 N. Main Street, Memphis, Tennessee, by the General Government Committee. The following Monday, September 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the above address, is the date of the vote to be appointed.
